ACTIVATE YOUR CHURCH
Woody Woodrum, a founder of the Salt and Light Council, discussed the importance of building a network of churches to defend and advance family values through truth, action and change.
Who Is The Salt And Light Council?
The Salt and Light Council is comprised of Christian church leaders who have started, or are interested in starting, their own Salt and Light affiliate ministries. The Council provides a structure and readiness for a quick response to issues that surface attacking family values and God’s Non-Negotiable moral values. Through a united effort, churches will all be able to mobilize and work quickly to be Salt and Light and affect change as necessary.
The Salt and Light Council endeavors to be a one-stop, unified website resource for pastors and future Salt and Light leaders to download information on how to start and maintain a Salt and Light ministry and to prioritize and consolidate breaking news and issues. We focus and prioritize issues and use effective ways to take action.
We have refined a model that can be used effectively by all churches so there will be no need to “reinvent the wheel” or duplicate efforts. Several newly planted Salt & Light ministries have used this model, demonstrating both the need and growth opportunity within the church body.
Salt and Light Ministry Affiliates are volunteers that assist the Church and work only with the express permission of their Pastor.

Pastor Paul Blair shared how citizens can “reclaim” their state for Christ. Pastor Blair leads Reclaiming Oklahoma for Christ, which is an organized effort to remind pastors of our Pastoral Heritage.
Pastor Blair believes:
“God called us to be Watchmen on the Wall. We are to encourage and comfort when all is well and to cry out when danger approaches. We are to evangelize the lost with the saving Gospel of Jesus Christ and to stand against the spread of wickedness in our culture. We are to be Salt and Light.”
“We have confused the terms “serving the Lord” with “going to church.” The typical Christian attends Sunday service and says, “There, I’ve served the Lord.” Not so!! Church is for the Body of Christ. We attend church for fellowship, encouragement, accountability and Bible preaching and teaching. We are to be “fully equipped” at church in order to GO OUT and serve the Lord.”
